In Memory of Congresswoman Julia M. Carson.
I Love Julia Foundation, Inc, is a community-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit Veteran Support Organization, with a current mandate to eliminate homelessness among U.S. Military Veterans in the Greater Indianapolis Area.
Concepts for I Love Julia Foundation, Inc. (ILJF) were conceived by CEO and Co-Founder, Sam Bump Carson, along with his grandmother, The Late Hon. Congresswoman Julia M. Carson, shortly before her passing in December 2007.
The words, "I Love Julia," inscribed atop a red heart-shaped pendant, are a symbol that Congresswoman Carson chose to represent her lifetime of public service and love for the communities she served and is the inspiration for ILJF's "Heart & Ribbon" logo.
I Love Julia Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Indiana as a non-profit corporation on July 8, 2008, and received its 501(c)(3) status from the IRS later that year.
The primary mission of ILJF is to provide access to housing and supportive services for disabled and homeless U.S. Military Veterans, and their families. We seek to accomplish this goal by collaborating with government agencies and other organizations that specialize in connecting our clients with the information, resources, and support they need to become self-sufficient.
Additionally, ILJF works to help improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods by adopting blighted properties and developing them into desirable places to live and work.
